Masters Football Asia (MFA) and Castlewood Group announced the return of the Liverpool Masters to Singapore as they take on their traditional rivals, the Manchester United Masters in “The Castlewood Group Battle of the Reds 2015”.

The 11-a-side full field match, scheduled to take place on Saturday 14th November, will see the rivals battle it out at Singapore’s National Stadium as it sets the stage for one of the most iconic football rivalries in modern history.

New addition Luis Garcia joins the line-up alongside members of last year’s victorious Liverpool Masters returning to Singapore. Garcia featured in the UEFA Champions League winning team of 2005 and was instrumental in the club’s victory in the UEFA Super Cup in the same year. Confirming their participation for the Manchester United Masters are three players from the Manchester United double winning team of 1995-96; Andy Cole, Paul Parker and Lee Sharpe.

Commenting on the rivalry between the two clubs, Sharpe who is famous for his hat-trick at Highbury in the 1990 League Cup said, “I think the competitive edge never leaves you. As soon as you get the boots on and step across the white line and get on the pitch, you want to win and do the best you can. There’s always pressure against Liverpool. We don’t like losing to Liverpool and they don’t like losing to us. They got the better of us the last few times we played them and I don’t know if revenge is the right word but we certainly owe them one, that’s for sure.”

Chris Comer, CEO, Castlewood Group, commented, “The ‘red rivalry’ between Liverpool and Manchester United has been well-documented over the years, and we are excited to bring this to our doorstep here in Asia. With both teams being extremely popular in Singapore, the event has been upsized to the National Stadium so we can expect this match to be bigger than ever. We have kept the ticket price affordable as our way to give back to the local community, giving supporters the chance to get up close and personal with their idols.’’

Steve Black, Chief Executive Officer, Masters Football Asia, commented, “The Castlewood Group Battle of the Reds 2015 will undoubtedly be an entertaining evening featuring some of the greats of English football. Pride will be at stake and winning is the only option. Thank you again to Castlewood Group for their immense support and we look forward to yet another memorable event.”

Tickets start from S$19, and organisers have released 11,000 tickets for this exclusive event. Fans are advised to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment. Family packages (Two adults and two children below the age of 12) are also available.
