And Now, S$6K for a 4K OLED TV

It almost felt like yesterday that OLED TVs made their expensive debut, but now, LG has released a 4K OLED TV that costs less than S$6,000.

The new 55EG920T is a 55-inch, curved 4K OLED TV, which means it ticks all the right boxes with best-of-class features in the TV world. Also, the OLED display measures only 4.8mm, making it thinner than all smartphones in the world, save perhaps for the Vivo X5 Max.

The curved TV sports razor-thin bezels to accentuate its slimness, whilst the transparent stand reduces visual clutter and draws attention to the screen.

But the magic lies in its OLED screen: boasting 33 million sub-pixels, and coupled with self-lighting pixels that can switch on and off individually, LG claims that their display produces an infinite contrast ratio with brightest whites and darkest blacks. The result is lifelike, perfect colours with surreal depth.

The EG920T boasts the ULTRA Surround system that was designed with Harman/Kardon to produce a convincing surround sound from the built-in stereo speakers. Its powered by webOS2.0, an upgraded version of LG’s user-friendly and visually pleasing Smart TV platform.

The 55EG920T is now available at all major retailers for S$5,499.
