Empowering Seniors and Ex-Offenders Through Innovation

Founded in December 2024, Antica Foundation focuses on bridging gaps in elder care and rehabilitating ex-offenders. By leveraging technology and community collaboration, it creates opportunities for vulnerable seniors and individuals seeking second chances.

Project GUARDIAN, a cornerstone initiative, uses radar-based sensors to detect falls in seniors’ homes, instantly alerting designated “Angels”—caregivers, family members, or friends—via WhatsApp. Currently piloted in Siglap, the programme aims to benefit 100 households with full subsidies by the end of 2025.

In addition, Project SECOND WINGS aids ex-offenders by offering vocational training, career development, and mentoring to reintegrate them into society. Ex-offenders employed as full-time care staff support seniors during the day, while local volunteers take over after hours, responding swiftly to fall alerts when necessary.

Building Connections Across Generations

Beyond its tech-focused efforts, Antica Foundation actively engages seniors through health talks, wellness workshops, and daily programmes at the Lucky Haven Senior Activity Centre in Siglap. In collaboration with Bedok View Secondary School, the organisation also introduced a Design Thinking Workshop on sustainability and recycling, fostering intergenerational dialogue and learning.

Executive Director Dixon Lim emphasised the Foundation’s ethos: “True social change comes from quiet, consistent acts of restoring dignity to those society often forgets. For seniors, it’s about belonging and purpose. For ex-offenders, it’s about trust and rebuilding. Every life holds value, no matter its past.”

Looking Ahead: Expanding Social Impact

Building on its roots in Siglap, Antica Foundation is poised to expand its initiatives and partnerships across Singapore. By harnessing innovation and collaboration, it aims to create a more inclusive society, empowering both seniors and ex-offenders to thrive.

Antica Foundation’s work exemplifies the power of compassion, technology, and resilience, offering transformative opportunities for growth and a brighter future for all.
