The Van Cleef & Arpels: Art and Science of Gems exhibition premieres this 23 April, inviting all to discover minerals and their connections to high jewellery creations.

A first of its kind, the Van Cleef and Arpels: Art and Science of Gems exhibition will premiere at the Marina Bay Sands’ ArtScience Museum on 23 April 2016. Exploring the world of exquisite jewellery and their links to minerals, the exhibition will flaunt over 450 creations from Van Cleef & Arpels and 250 minerals from the French National Museum of Natural History Collection.

Co-curated by ArtScience Museum, the stunning pieces featured at the exhibition are from the Maison’s archive collection, and will include pieces loaned from private collectors globally.

Two complementing routes will showcase the intersection between the science of mineralogy and the art of jewellery making – one of which unearths the evolution of minerals from the deep Earth to its surface; while the other presents the transformation of these minerals into precious works of art by the Maison’s best craftsmen.

Following a series of seven defining themes: couture, abstractions, influences, precious objects, nature, ballerinas and fairies; the exhibition will truly be an educational one for all members of the family.

With a family package (two kids and two adults) starting from SGD 26, a visit to the Van Cleef & Arpels: The Art and Science of Gems exhibition would make for an eventful family outing surrounded by precious gems and stones and educational titbits on their history and origins.

Prices are starting at SGD 10 for a single adult ticket, and starting at SGD 6 for a single child ticket (ages two to 12 years old).

The ArtScience Museum is located at 6 Bayfront Ave, SIngapore 018974.
