ASUS Announces Next Generation Android Tablets

ASUS launches its latest MeMO Pad and Fonepad which features the new-generation 64-bit Intel Atom ‘Moorefield’ quad-core processor.

Both models feature the latest 64-bit Intel Atom ‘Moorefield’ quad-core processor, which promises powerful performance and energy efficiency, as well as the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, which is claimed to be the fastest operating system that gets more things done in lesser time. Both also feature the intuitive ASUS ZenUI, which is ASUS’ new interface with over 1,000 upgrades and enhancements.

Weighing only 299g, the 8-inch ASUS MeMO Pad 8 is the world’s lightest tablet with Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and offers ultra-fast connectivity with its 802.11ac Wi-fi and wireless Near-Field Communications (NFC) capabilities. Designed to be ultra-thin, the MeMO Pad also features a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 and IPS display, promising to deliver crystal-clear images.

On the other hand, the 8-inch ASUS Fonepad 8 features a large display area with its 72.2% screen-to-body ratio and dual SIM function, allowing users to browse the web seamlessly and stay connected at all times. Equipped with an HD 1,280 x 800 IPS display, the Fonepad 8 also comes with full 3G telephony support and is ideal for voice calls.

If you’re into wide display screens for easier viewing or looking for a portable mobile entertainment device, catch ASUS’ two new tablets available at all ASUS brand stores and ASUS authorised retailers from 10 October onwards.

The MeMO Pad 8 is retailing at S$499 and comes in pearl white, powder pink and metallic blue colours. The Fonepad 8 is retailing at S$299 and is available in black, white, gold and red, with white made available first on 10 October while the other colours will only be available by the end of October.
