The new heritage-inspired Mercure Singapore Bugis hotel has been unveiled in the heart of Singapore’s arts and cultural district. The newly built hotel is situated next to Bugis+ shopping centre, within a 5-minute walk to Bugis MRT station.

The neighbourhood offers a rich variety of arts and cultural sights supported by many cafes, trendy shops and diverse eateries. These combine to offer both visitors and locals an authentic taste of Singapore from the get-go.

Design features include the hotel’s facade panels of red, blue, yellow and green, that mirrors the primary hues of the nearby Rochor housing estate; as well as the double-height lobby designed with a hint of Peranakan influence showing pockets of motif tiles on the elegant marble walls. Charming scenes of old and new Singapore in a vivid colour palette, forming a vibrant backdrop observed in the hotel’s collection of rooms, lofts and suites.

Mercure Singapore Bugis shares that, “…the commissioned artworks, imagery and illustrations are by Beatrice Martinet from Toine Bangkok. These visuals are an artistic mélange of the city’s rich cultural heritage and its various ethnicities, lending a distinctly local character to the modern, yet homely vibe of its rooms, underscored by its hardwood floors.”

All rooms are equipped with a smartphone by handy, providing guests with free unlimited mobile internet access and international calls to 10 key destinations. The smartphone is also loaded with an up-to-date City Guide, which guests can access on-the-go in their preferred language.

To celebrate the first year of opening, Mercure Singapore Bugis is offering a buffet breakfast at S$5 per person with every room booked. This offer is valid until 31 December 2016.
