Exercising regularly and eating healthy goes hand in hand. Learn how to get the best results when it comes to losing weight and having a healthy lifestyle.

Losing weight is always a difficult task for anyone, especially for those who are not willing to exercise and eat healthy.  If you really want to burn calories effectively, you must be willing to sweat it all out and watch your diet on a regular basis.

 Where Do I Start?

Once you have decided to lose weight, you must find an exercise that will help you challenge your body and burn calories. For starters, walking is a recommended exercise routine since it has been a part of our daily lives.

Schedule

Once you have decided on walking, you must work your schedule to be able to fit in a walk on a daily basis. It is recommended to walk for at least 30 minutes a day to increase your heart rate and your breathing rate at the same time. Don’t worry if you think you’re not sweating enough. The amount of perspiration is not how you count whether your workout routine has been effective or not.

Of course, you may have to increase the duration of your walking routine once you get used to walking the same distance or duration. However, do so only when you think your body is able to take on a bigger challenge.

For those who are always busy at work, you can find pockets of time to walk. Use your lunch break to take a quick walk, use the stairs instead of elevators or even park your car further from where you work to get yourself walking.  These actions should not be difficult, if you’re really motivated to get your daily exercise fix.

 Enjoy It

You may come to a point where walking feels like a boring routine. Don’t let this happen to you!

To avoid this, make an effort to make walking an enjoyable exercise.

Feel free to listen to your workout jam every time you walk to keep your mind off the task of sweating out. You will be surprised how fast time flies once you listen to your favorite songs while you work out.

If you are bored walking on your own, you can always ask a friend to accompany you. It’s always nice to walk and sweat it out with a buddy where you can talk almost about anything. You can also try hiking with your friends as you use this opportunity to walk on steep terrains.

Watch What You Eat

Now comes the harder part. Though you have been exercising for quite some time now, you have to help your body lose the remaining calories by eating right. You cannot let yourself get a free pass on eating your favorite fast food every single time.

Remember, working out regularly does not give you the license to give in to your unhealthy food cravings. Your exercise will be wasted if you still continue to eat junk foods that are bad for the body.

Plan your meals ahead of time to help you eat properly this time. This involves going to the grocery and buying healthy alternatives to keep you stuffed when you feel hungry in the office or at home.

Reward Yourself

This is also an important part of losing weight. Treat yourself to your favorite restaurant once in a while without looking at the calories. There is nothing wrong with eating what you are craving for as long as you eat them in moderation. This will also motivate you to work out harder the next time so you can go on a trip to your favorite ice cream parlor or dessert café.
