Trafalgar and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises are running separate Sound of Music tour packages to celebrate and commemorate the popular movie’s 50th anniversary

Trafalgar invites travellers to join them on a exclusive itinerary to celebrate the the music, art, culture and history of Vienna and Salzburg.

The eight-day trip will take guests on a memorable and exclusive journey where they will uncover sightseeing treasures including the Hofburg, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Schonbrunn Palace and Mozart’s birthplace.

Music lovers will enjoy attending the Salute to Vienna concert in the city of its origin, complimentary tickets to the House of Music and a visit to Mondsee, where Captain Von Trapp and Maria Von Trapp’s wedding scene was filmed for The Sound of Music. Travellers will be granted VIP entry into Vienna’s magnificent Museum of Fine Arts before it opens to the general public.

A key highlight would be the “Be My Guest” dining experience with an Austrian family at their Gasthof while tasting regional dishes and hearing local stories.
