Downtown East Launches new D’Resort

Relive and create new memories at Downtown East’s D’Resort, a nature-inspired getaway with an integrated water park

Fans of Downtown East and NTUC members can relive fun moments spent with family and friends doing bbqs, having wet fun at Wild Wild Wet and enjoying walks along the beach.

The newly opened D’Resort, situated on the old Escape Theme Park area, is located at Downtown East in Pasir Ris.

Guests can look forward to escaping Singapore city life and head to the new resort that features rainforest-styled architecture and nine room types including suites and chalets with views of the surrounding beach, mangrove and park.. At this stage, 309 of the rooms are available for booking by NTUC members as well as members of the public.

Nature fans can join trail walks and mangrove tours conducted by U Live Park ambassadors. The young-at-heart can directly access Wild Wild Wet for some water fun. Downtown East intends to expand the water theme park to double its current size over the next few years.

D’Resort will have a total of 387 rooms spread across a resort block and a chalet block. Seeking to cater to different resort stay reasons and budgets, D’Resort has prepared design touches and amenities including room themes, locations away from large group areas, locations nearby to bbq pits, views of the surrounding scenery, access to Wild Wild Wet and others.

The resort block features 117 rainforest rooms and 12 themed rooms with 28sqm space and prices ranging from SGD 125 to SGD 150. A special themed room – created in collaboration with M&Ms – features children-friendly M&Ms characters. Other themed rooms are inspired by the jungle or underwater.

There are also two suites – the Rainforest Suite and the Rainforest Premier Suite – with 58sqm and 86 sqm space respectively. The Premier Suite includes a living room, walk-in wardrobe and a dining area for up to 6 persons. The suites are priced at SGD 288 for the Rainforest Suite and SGD 378 for the Rainforest Premier Suite.

The chalet block includes 270 rooms and bbq pits located nearby. There are four room types in this block including the Beach Cove, Beach Cove Duplex, Mangrove Walk and the exclusive-to-NTUC-members-only Park View. Room rates start from SGD 118 to SG 173 (Beach Cove Duplex).

Larger or extended families looking for a staycation together can request for connecting rooms. The resort block has 13 Rainforest room pairs and the chalet block has 31 chalet rooms pairs.

NTUC members will enjoy privileges including complimentary access to Wild Wild Wet, subsidised parking charges during peak and off-peak periods when staying at D’Resort, cheaper booking rates for BBQ pits and booking access to 36 Park View rooms.

Future expansion plans for D’Resort and Downtown East

Downtown East will be looking to add another 90 rooms by the end of 2015 as part of the Mangrove Walk cluster.

As part of the SGD 200 million Refreshing Downtown East project, Wild Wild Wet will grow to double its current size and integrate with D’Resort by the second half of 2016 and a new F&B and retail experience by 2017.

“While D’Resort is nestled in the lush greenery of Pasir Ris Park, a short hop away will be a spanking new Downtown East Retail, Dining and Entertainment Experience completed by 2017, to add to the integrated water theme park that resort guests can enjoy.” said Mr. Yeo Khee Leng, CEO, NTUC Club.
