Drive To Infiniti – Infiniti Drive Singapore
Infiniti Singapore recently showcased its latest range of vehicles at the Infiniti Drive Singapore at the Changi Exhibition Centre.
It’s not very often that we get a chance to put a car to the test and push its limitations to the unknown, but Wearnes Automotive did just that, by allowing local auto-enthusiasts the opportunity to show off their exemplary driving skills and put Infiniti’s latest model line-up of theQ50, Q70 and QX70 to the test.
With the tarmac heating up the noon of Changi Exhibition Centre, we were good to hit the roads and experience city driving in the comfort of the luxury fleet, trying to outrun the roads while fidgeting with the different pre-set driving modes. The participants were also introduced to the advanced features of the Infiniti models through a guided run of rigorous driving courses in order to accentuate the principle values of their creation.
Infiniti’s Direct Adaptive Steering (DAS) system was put to the test through a short gymkhana course where the participants have to respond to the strategically placed slaloms and manoeuvre safely with the assistance of the DAS system. The DAS enhances both vehicular and passenger safety by allowing drivers the ability to personalise the steering response.
The most challenging exercise however was not about taming the V6s. Participants were invited to complete a test circuit with the bigger QX70 suv. This was a showcase of Infiniti’s intuitive Around View Monitor (AVM) which provides almost a 360 degree view of the vehicle’s immediate surrounding and the only way to escape unscathed was to navigate the vehicle purely on the visual projected onto the centre infotainment console of the QX70.
It was certainly an eye-opening weekend and enriching experience for me as I spent the weekend with Infiniti!
