By  |  0 Comments

Entering its 11th year now, the iBrew Challenge (IBC) is a community gathering of home brewers and craft beer lovers each year to celebrate home brewing. It will be held at the open space at Clementi right outside the iBrew shop on 9 September 2017 and serves as a platform for the home brew community to not only share insights and experiences but also to inspire others to join in the fun to brew their own beer.

This year, the Challenge is looking at an increased turnout both from spectators as well as competitors. The event starting at 2pm will feature more than 30 home brews lovingly crafted by some of the most experienced home brewers in the land. Joining in this showcase, is John Wei, who is the head brewmaster from Brewlander, who went from home brewer to pro.

There is also a home brewing competition segment to the event where home brewers can submit their bottles for judging. This Bottle Competition segment is judged a week prior to the event by a panel of Beer Judge Certification Programme (BJCP) certified judges as well as industry experts, including some hailing from Hong Kong and Australia. Closing date for home brewers to submit their bottles is 2 September 2017, Saturday 5pm and there is an entry fee of $7.

Apart from that, the kegs which you will be able to partake of that day will also be judged both by the judges and contributors as well as from the general public as well!

This event promises to be an insightful one to home brewing and a good step for the craft beer community on the whole. Tickets are available now on EventBrite at $50 or $60 at the door. So with free-flow of home brews and several other kegs from their sponsors, this is the beer event not to be missed!
