IT Show 2016 This Weekend

By  |  0 Comments

IT Show 2016 returns to Suntec City with the same philosophy: to have a little something for everyone.

Highlights include a trade-in programme where visitors have the opportunity to trade in their old gadgets for cash vouchers valid for use at the show. This year the show introduces a new initiative called Brand Time, where visitors can interact with leading tech brands. If you have a question for Lenovo, Samsung or Sony about your latest laptop or handset, hop on over to the stage area to join in discussions about their products and brands. Also, if you snap a shot with the IT Show babes and post it on the IT Show Facebook page here, you have a chance to win a Sony A5100 mirrorless camera worth S$999.

Trade-in Incentives

Over at Level 4 (Hall 402 and 403), visitors can trade-in laptops, tablets, smartphones, PCs (non-DIY), and monitors. You can now trade-in small TVs below 34-inches as well and upgrade to the latest Smart TV. Over at Level 6 (Hall 604), your kids will be allowed to trade-in their old video games in addition to the usual game consoles and handheld portables. Visit this page here to find out more about the terms and conditions.

Tech Showcase

Some of the newest tech will be here, such as Sony’s successor to its best-selling α6000 mirrorless camera – the α6300, which features the world’s fastest autofocus and 4K video recording capabilities. Other highlights include the 14-inch Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which comes with a built-in projector.

Virtual reality (VR) is the latest trend to hit the market and the Lenovo Vibe X3 or Vibe A7010 can stake a claim at being the world’s first two smartphones with built-in virtual reality (VR) technology. Both models will be available at the IT Show 2016, and will come with a VR headset upon purchase.

Gaming extravaganza for the kids

Virtual reality isn’t quite there yet, but gaming is the main driver of this tech on a consumer level. Even if you’re not quite interested in games, over at the Nvidia VR zone, you can get to try out an exciting VR adventure game by donning the HTC Vive VR headset, complete with motion sensors that track your movements in the game.

For the kids, apart from the usual bundle offers, they can pre-order Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Limited Edition PlayStation 4 console bundle. It comes with a unique silk-screened image of Nathan Drake with a matching DualShock wireless controller and a copy of the game. Also available for hands-on experience for the first time is a 5 vs 5 multi-player challenge for Unchartered 4.

Location Suntec Convention Centre Singapore Level 3, 4 and 6
