At Jamala Wildlife Lodge, guests can take a bath next to brown bears, dine with lions on the opposite side of the glass panel or feed giraffes from a balcony.

Accommodations at the hotel are available for one night only, but includes pre-dinner drinks, an African-inspired dinner in “The Cave” restaurant, and a continental breakfast the next morning. The suites and rooms start from A$400 per person, per night, with all profits going back to the zoo in the form of wildlife conservation programmes. Guests will also be given access the full zoo both days, as well as an exclusive tour of the zoo each day.

The suites of the hotel are broken into three separate residences: the Giraffe Treehouses, uShaka Lodge, and the Jungle Bungalows. Each has a different group of animals available to stare at, with the suites cleverly incorporated into the enclosures of numerous animals, some of which include: tigers, bears, lions, hyenas, and snow leopards, with only a few millimetres of glass separating the guests from these apex predators.

Every suite at the Jungle Bungalow has nothing but glass walls that separate the hotel guests from the zoo animals, with each suite adjacent to a different animal enclosure. How cool is it to find a bear hanging around in the middle of your bubble bath.
