KDF Unites Singapore’s Kidney Community and Public Through Charity Event – Got To Walk & Got To Goal 2024
The Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF) announces its 2024 charity events: Got To Walk on 9 November and Got To Goal on 7 to 8 December.
Founded with the mission to ensure no kidney patient perishes due to lack of funds, KDF focuses on providing quality care and education for those with end-stage kidney disease.
The events are set to unite an expected 6,000 participants to raise awareness and funds for underprivileged kidney patients in Singapore.
Proceeds will go towards essential dialysis treatment.
With 14 percent of Singaporeans battling chronic kidney disease (CKD) and six new patients diagnosed with kidney failure every day, the urgency for awareness has never been greater. It’s estimated that by 2035, nearly a million people in Singapore will face significant health challenges due to CKD.
Got To Walk 2024: Beat Diabetes, Protect Your Kidneys
To be held at OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub, the 5km fun walk on 9 November aims to develop healthier habits and fight diabetes—a major contributor to kidney failure. Participants will enjoy scenic views of Singapore’s iconic skyline while emphasizing the importance of physical fitness for kidney health.
Activities include:
- Family Carnival games highlighting kidney health
- Live Performances by Micollar and Eason Lee
- Mass Warm-Up and Workout sessions led by REVL Fitness
- Grand Lucky Draw with prizes like EMPIRE Prestige Massage Chair
Participants at this KDF event can also contribute to a string art installation symbolising healthy habits.
Got To Goal: Healthier As One
Held on 7 and 8 December at Kick Off @ Kovan, this futsal tournament encourages active living and family bonding. Former National team player Hassan Sunny and players from the Football Association of Singapore will engage with participants, adding to the event’s vibrancy.
Activities include:
- Juggle Master Challenge
- Inflatable games and interactive soccer clinic for kids
- Foosball Mini Tournament
- Art Booths and Carnival Food Stalls
- Health Screening Check-up
A Growing Need for Support
KDF’s goal is to ensure no kidney patient perishes due to financial limitations. By supporting these events, we can provide life-saving treatments to those in need and ensure no one goes without care. Together, we can make a significant impact on the health of Singaporeans.
