The current best-selling model of the Lexus’ line-up features a bold and sportier design complemented with a luxurious and feature-rich interior cabin.

Launched by Borneo Motors (Singapore) Pte Ltd earlier this week, the new Lexus ES will be available in two variants, the ES 250 and the ES Hybrid in both Executive and Luxury grades. The familiar ES 250 is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder in-line petrol engine mated to a six-speed sequential automatic transmission, while the ES Hybrid features a 2.5-litre twin cam Atkinson cycle petrol engine with a 105kW electric drive motor and multi-mode continuously variable transmission (E-CVT) with sequential shift feature.

In terms of looks, the commanding front design of the ES facelift showcases a bolder, chrome-trimmed spindle grille and the newly designed LED headlamps including distinctive “L”-shaped taillights. The manufacturer has also added a pair of new fog lamps framing the outer corners of the front kit, chrome-tipped exhaust ports on the ES 250 and a fresh changed of multi-spoke rims.

On the inside, the dark brown Shimamoku wood trim and quilted stitching on seats line up the interior to accentuate the luxurious and modern feel of the cabin. A new three-spoke steering wheel and shift knob with a leather boot musing from the Lexus LFA and IS are introduced for a sportier styling. The integration of audio and phone controls on the leather-cladded steering wheel oozes luxury.

The ES 250 Luxury grade will come with a larger Tilt and Slide Panoramic glass roof while the other variants are equipped with a standard sunroof.
