Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has announced the addition of two new departures to their Antarctica 2016 season.

Linblad Expeditions-National Geographic will depart for their Antarctica season on both 7 and 17 November this year. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the first citizen explorer voyage led by Lars-Eric Lindblad, the company has added two ships in the region to cater to the increasing demand.

The two ships, National Geographic Explorer and National Geographic Orion will follow an 11-night Journey to Antartica: The White Continent expedition that will ensure travellers an exhilarating journey and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to marvel at the beauty of nature. Filled with an astounding population of penguins, a myriad of bird species, whales, as well as majestic ice sculptures, the tour will include the best sights and activities. Perfect for active agers, immersive adventures will also be available and include kayaking among icebergs; Zodiac cruises to view leopard seals up close; and hiking with a reliable team: an expedition leader, eight veteran naturalists, a National Geographic photographer, a Lindblad-National Geographic photo instructor and an undersea specialist.

Rates begin at AU$16,700 per person based on double occupancy in a category one cabin. Guests on the two departures will also receive a special saving of AU$1,000 and complimentary charter airfare roundtrip between Santiago/Ushuaia.
