With an All Day Breakfast menu alongside a variety of toasts, pancakes, mains and innovative beverages to choose from, the new menu is perfect for those seeking a casual breakfast or brunch over the weekend.

A classic favourite, the Ricotta Hot Cakes is served with berries, sliced bananas, ricotta cheese and unique truffle honey. A little different from your usual pancakes, the dollop of ricotta cheese on top adds a unique savoury finish, while the aromatic sweetness of the truffle honey keeps the flavours balanced. The pancakes are fluffy and hearty, offering a feeling of comfort with every bite. If you’re visiting Mr & Mrs Maxwell’s in the morning, the Ricotta Hot Cakes will certainly lend a fruity and flavourful way to get you started.

For fresh appetisers to start off your meal, the restaurant offers several salad options to choose from. Mrs Maxwell’s Slow-Cooked Lamb Salad will add a touch of Moroccan flavour to your meal with its combination of Moroccan lamb shoulder slices tossed with a verdant bed of rocket leaves. Also tossed in the salad are chickpeas, peanuts and onions, adding extra texture and crunch to the dish. The salad is drizzled with a lemon-spiced dressing that nicely complements the bitterness of the rocket leaves.

For those who aren’t fans of rocket, there are other salad options such as the Roasted Pumpkin Salad (SGD 14++) featuring quinoa and beetroot; or the Beet-Cured Salmon Salad (SGD 15++) featuring salmon and avocado tossed with greens.

For something hearty, juicy and meaty, be sure to try the signature The Club Burger. Featuring a juicy hand-minced angus beef patty topped with cheddar, emmental cheese and candied bacon, the The Club Burger is sure to hit the spot. Also found within the layers is a slice of egg and the usual tomato and lettuce. The burger is also served with salted fries and garden salad on the side for a wholesome, hearty meal.

Maine Lobster Laksa

For a twist on the local classic, be sure to try the Maine Lobster Laksa. Unlike the common laksa you find in Singapore, the Maine Lobster Laksa takes things up a notch with its slices of maine lobster flesh instead of the usual prawns. Featuring a delicate mix of fish cakes, tau pok (fried beancurd), crunchy bean sprouts, and hard-boiled eggs in a flavourful gravy; the Maine Lobster Laksa was surprisingly comparable to the famous laksas sold in local specialty hawker joints. The Maine Lobster Laksa features a house blend of spices but isn’t too spicy. Though the maine lobster flesh was slightly on the tougher side, the tastiness of the gravy makes the dish worth a try on the whole.

Sweet Things

Baked Alaska

Conclude your meal on a sweet note with the restaurant’s Baked Alaska, featuring an aesthetically-pleasing baked ice cream topped with a fancy pink-purple cotton candy. The highlight of this dessert is that you get to watch it flambéed in rum right before your eyes, reducing the cotton candy to a deep pink syrup. If you’re a fan of berry-flavoured desserts, the Baked Alaska is served with strawberries and blueberries with a candy grape flavour syrup from the melted cotton candy. The baked ice cream on the other hand, lends an indulgent texture – slightly crisp on the exterior, and soft within. Overall, the Baked Alaska adds a fancy touch to your meal, but is best for those with a severe sweet tooth!

Crȇpe Suzette

For those who prefer citrusy desserts, the Crȇpe Suzette will make the perfect option. With a live station available, watch how your Crȇpe Suzette is prepared from scratch and flambéed with orange liquor right before your eyes. The result is a multi-sensorial experience where the warmth from the freshly-made crepes is juxtaposed by the coldness from the vanilla ice cream served on the top. The flambéed orange liquor cools to form a tangy marmalade-like sauce which may be too sour for some, but still worth experiencing.

Featuring a nutritious concoction of orange, green apple, passionfruit and lemon flavoured with ginger and honey, the Morning Glow offers a pleasant mix of sweet and tangy flavours. Served with a slice of passionfruit on the top, you can even find passionfruit seeds at the bottom of the glass.

Adult Shakes

Vodka Peanut Butter

For those who enjoy milkshakes with a little alcohol, be sure to try some of Mr & Mrs Maxwell’s playful “Adult Shakes”. The Vodka Peanut Butter may sound too rich and intimidating but it was surprisingly more palatable than expected. Featuring banana blended with the nostalgic flavours of peanut butter, the creamy smooth Vodka Peanut Butter wasn’t too rich to ingest even when we were halfway through the glass. The taste of vodka was barely noticeable, making it easy to drink like you would with a normal milkshake. Other interesting Adult Shakes available include the Kahlua Cookies and Cream (SGD 16++) featuring oreo cookies and vanilla ice cream shaken with kahlua.

Coffee lovers will love the Truffle Martini, which offers a combination of the restaurant’s signature cold espresso topped with vodka and Frangelico. The aromatic cocktail is further sprinkled with a dash of cocoa powder, while the marshmallows floating on the surface will remind you of the nostalgic hot chocolate beverage. The refreshing taste of caffeine is presented with an aftertaste comprising heavily of vodka and Frangelico.
