Circles.Life is Singapore’s fourth Telco, and its services are very different from what you’re used to.
For one thing, Circles.Life promises choice with customisable plans, stressing that you pay only for what you want. It doesn’t promise to be cheaper though, just more flexible. It’s geared towards users who prioritise data over talk time; a boon to those of you who have slowly weaned off your reliance on SMSes and carrier calls thanks to the multitude of alternatives out there like Whatsapp, Wechat, Line, Telegram, etc.
The difference is reflected not just in the pricing structure, but also in how it’s implemented. If you want control and information with regards to how your data is being used, Circle.Life utilises an app that allows you to monitor changes, add on data, or contact support via a live chat feature.
If you are heavy WhatsApp user, then you’re in luck – Circles.Life is offering unlimited talk and chat on Whatsapp, which doesn’t eat into your data allocation. If Whatsapp is your primary messaging and call app, it’s tantamount to an unlimited plan for a base price.
Prices start at S$28 per month for 3GB of data and 100 minutes of outgoing calls, sans SMS (you can still receive SMSes). Add on additional services – e.g. $4 for 100 SMSes per month – as and when you like, according to your needs.
Data-heavy users who teeter around 4-5GB or more in terms of data usage and who like to have more control and flexibility will benefit most from Circles.Life. Users who tend to prefer traditional carrier calls and SMSes and not have to think much about these things, won’t find much incentive to switch over.
