Brother launches two electronic labellers with “What-you-see-is-what-you-get” (WYSIWYG) functionality and one with a special edition Hello Kitty theme

Looking to get your home organised? It can be difficult to find both time and energy to take care of the home, given all the many other priorities in a day. This starts to become a problem when days pass and the home becomes overwhelmingly messy.

The home is our special place and somewhere we look to retreat to, at the end of a long day or to spend a good weekend. It definitely helps to keep the space well-organised.

Start with a little time each day and small steps and watch the impact grow on the organisation and orderliness at home. And as with all big home projects, it is easier to deal with small tasks such as keeping items in the right places.

Here are three areas where labellers can help with organising items at home:

Around the house: Pack up those books, collections and memorabilia into storage boxes and label them. Labels are also good for marking individual items with nuggets of information for example, electrical wires, switches, remote controllers and other home appliances.

Depending on how you organise your days (or evenings), labels can help you structure your time. Last day of the month? Take out the tray labelled bills. Wondering where you left the house keys? Look for the container or basket marked “keys”.

Kitchen: Labels are great for identifying and keeping track of food items in the fridge or freezer. They are good for tracking foods that have a long shelf life or containers holding multiple items.

This is not a well known fact but labels are generally able to withstand high and low temperatures, do not get affected by water and fade-resistant. These properties can come in handy when freezing food items. You might be making a large pot of soup to save into single portion servings before freezing. Using a label to note the date or week it was first frozen might be helpful.

Garden or balcony: Growing some herbs to complement your cooking? Labels can help with the pots and racks to help separate between your rosemary and thyme.

Labels can also be used to designate areas for storing items such as bicycles and mobile scooters. It can even be used to mark out areas for the younger children to play or leave their toys at. At the very least, the kids get used to reading and identifying words from the start.
