In an exclusive interview with British Airways, Singer Jessie J reveals the top places to shop in London this Christmas.

British Airways has recently teamed up with Jessie J for a gig in Abu Dhabi to mark the launch of its new 787-9 Dreamliner London-Abu Dhabi-Muscat service. Known for her eye-catching style, the airline also invited Jessie J to share some of her shopping tips for the festive season.

Travellers heading to London this December can refer to Jessie’s list of favourite stores and find anything from vintage looks to designer labels.

Dover Street Market

One of Jessie’s favourite places to go in city, shoppers looking for a quiet shopping experience can head to Dover Street Market. Featuring different designers such as Junya Watanabe for Comme des Garçons, Jessie claims this market is full of stuff people wouldn’t find in an average shop. On top of that, the Londoner adds that there are plenty of good places to eat around the area as well.

Camden

One of Jessie’s favourite places to shop and perform, Camden boasts quite an atmosphere and is great for those who just want a day out. Camden Market is also one of the biggest open-air market in town and fashion lovers will be delighted to find a range of different styles there without having to pay through the roof for them.

Selfridges

Selfridges is quite an obvious choice when shopping at London but Jessie claims it is always good. She adds that the huge store along Oxford Street is worth a visit during Christmas with its light displays along the road that add to the whole festive spirit.

Covent Garden

Jessie shares that she loves shopping at Covent Garden during the Christmas period as it is one of those places that offers all the high street brands as well as other smaller designers. She adds that it’s also always buzzing with street performers, and visitors are bound to catch a performance of sorts there.

Off-Carnaby Street

For the less commercial designers, shoppers can head off Carnaby Street (close to Oxford Circus). The singers adds that while everybody knows Carnaby Street, shoppers can go off the main strip to explore the little places around the back of the toy store, Hamleys.

Shoreditch (East London)

For those into vintage fashion, Jessie recommends taking a trip down to Shoreditch. She adds that it is also good for people-watching too and get inspired.

Notting Hill

Round the back of Notting Hill is a lane of shops which the singer claims is great for clothes shopping too. She adds that there’s a book shop there that she loves too. While tourists can probably recognise Notting Hill from the Hugh Grant film, it is one of the most expensive places to live and shop at in London.

Beyond Retro

Jessie shares that Beyond Retro is a great shop in London – which can also be found in other places around the capital. She adds that she used to go to the one in Soho (west) and the one over at Brick Lane (east) – which is also the home of curry for those who are fans.

For those interested in heading to London, British Airways operates a twice-daily service between Singapore and London into Heathrow T5 and is offering exclusive discounts for passengers visiting the UK this Christmas.
