Samsung Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard 2015
Samsung re-joins Fashion Steps Out (FSO) as the Official Technology Partner, and has launched its latest Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in tandem with the six-week fashion extravaganza from 10 April to 24 May 2015.
The Samsung Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard 2015 (FSO) aims to present six weeks of fiesta as it heralds the Spring/Summer fashion season with runway shows, distinctive exhibitions and exclusive MasterCard shopping promotions. Returning for the sixth year, FSO 2015 is presented by Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) and supported by Singapore Tourism Board and MasterCard.
Once again, Orchard Road will be closed to traffic and transformed into an outdoor catwalk display featuring the latest Spring/Summer looks from local and international brands. You might also want to look out for a unique Samsung fashion segment, an unprecedented children’s wear collection as well as a special collection to commemorate SG50.
Some of the main events include:
- Orchard Fashion Runway: 11 April 2015
13 brands including 50 special looks created by acclaimed local designers to commemorate SG50 will be featured on the Orchard Road runway. The thematic catwalk display will feature looks from these brands: Aimer, Ashley Isham, DEPRESSION, FOX Kids, Francis Cheong, Germain, Mary Katrantzou, max.tan, Moiselle, PAUL, PAULINE.NING, Pleatation and Sean & Sheila.
- Style on the Move with Samsung: 11 – 12 April, 18 – 19 April, and 25 – 26 April 2015
Two Style on the Move trucks will make their appearance in front of Ngee Ann City and Mandarin Gallery. Hop onto the trucks and get the latest buzz of FSO 2015 via the @Orchard mobile app while trying out the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge phones.
- Fashion Sculpture – 10 April – 24 May 2015
Located in front of Ngee Ann City, the installation gives visitors the opportunity to direct their own cover photo shoot. Capture your best looks at the Fashion Sculpture and upload them to Instagram with the hashtag #fashionstepsout using your own smartphones or the Samsung Galaxy S6 available for the first three weekends.
- SG Next50: Fashion Futurism – 17 April – 24 May 2015
If you’ve missed the Orchard Fashion Runway, you can still catch the 50 special looks created by local designers through the SG Next50: Fashion Futurism exhibition at Paragon Atrium 1. Visitors can also catch a glimpse of the creative development process and the inspiration behind the collections that pay tribute to Singapore’s Fashion and Style. The five celebrated local designers are Francis Cheong (Francis Cheong), Max Tan (max.tan), Chiang Xiao Jun (Pleatation), Pauline Ning (PAULINE.NING) and Kenny Lim (DEPRESSION).
- Fashion Splash – 1 – 21 May 2015
The iconic Singapore Merlion is recreated in clay figurines and fashionably styled by faculty and students of Raffles Design Institute. Reimagined with a modern, stylish and modernised edge, 30 figurines will be exhibited at the Fashion Splash showcase at orchardgateway Level 1.
Lastly, shoppers who charge a minimum of S$300 to their MasterCard at any of the participating malls on Orchard Road will be eligible to redeem a S$30 shopping voucher (terms and conditions apply). All shoppers, regardless of paying mode, will also stand a chance to win shopping vouchers from the Shop, Dine & Win Draw with every S$50 spent at any outlet in the participating malls. MasterCard cardholders will get triple the chances of winning for every S$50 charged to their MasterCard credit or debit card in a single receipt.
