Samsung Introduces Its Flagship Robot Vacuum

Samsung takes home cleaning convenience up a notch with its new POWERbot VR9000 robot vacuum.

Samsung’s flagship vacuum, which was announced last year, has finally made its way to Singapore. But don’t worry! It’s not because it couldn’t navigate its way here. The VR9000 features improved navigation technology – usually an achilles heel for many robot vacuums – in the form of a FullView sensor, which Samsung claims will help the VR9000 locate very narrow or small obstacles, and avoid them. In addition, it also has enlarged wheels and a raised body to better traverse wires and small obstacles. The VR9000 also has a unique Point Cleaning feature in which you can point at specific spots to clean just by using the remote control, so you don’t have to physically move the vacuum there.

The VR9000 is also Samsung’s most powerful robot vacuum to date, boasting up to 60 times more suction power than conventional Samsung robot vacuums thanks to its own digital inverter technology. It will also maintain its suction power longer too, thanks to its CycloneForce technology, which keeps the filter clean and lessens clogging.

While robot vacuums can’t completely replace vacuuming, it does have it’s place in the your cleaning arsenal. Plus, the new features on the VR9000 seem to address the weakest points of most robot vacuums.

The Samsung POWERbot VR9000 retails for S$1,499 and is available at all major consumer electronics stores.
