Fancy an authentic Italian Christmas meal? Trattoria Nonna Lina, a home-style Italian restaurant is celebrating their first ever Christmas at their new location along Cantonment Road. The restaurant, which focuses on authentic, quality dishes, is preparing a whole new selection of traditional Tuscan dishes to welcome the festive season.
Steeped in Tuscan heritage, each dish on the menu is a staple at any Tuscan family’s Christmas dinner table. The stars of this year’s Christmas menu include:
- Crostini con Fegatini alla Toscana – Slow cooked premium chicken liver (marinated over 2 days in Brunello wine and sage) with anchovies, carrot, and onions served with classic Tuscan toasted bread.
- Tortellini in Brodo – Handmade tortellini stuffed with Parma ham, Mortadella, Italian pork loin and Parmigiamo Reggiano, served with Trattoria Nonna Lina’s signature Italian capon and grass fed tenderloin broth.
- Zuppa di Polpo e Patate – A stew of Italian octopus and potatoes, Italian herbs, garlic, and chili in our home-made tomato sauce, served with Tuscan bread.
- Mini Zuccotto Natalizio – A traditional, homemade Florence sponge cake shaped as a pumpkin, made with organic goat ricotta cheese, chocolate chips, walnuts, and Italian brandy.
Besides the standard festive menu, Chef Simone will be preparing customised Christmas menus for customers upon request from S$90++ per diner. Customers can call or visit the restaurant one week in advance to speak with the chef and confirm their menu. Menu items can include seasonal fare such as Fiorentina steak and veal shank specially ordered and flown in from Italy. Customised menus will include reservations on the requested date, the menu arranged in consultation and by Chef Simone as well as special touches such as specially selected Italian wines to complement the special menu and occasion.
