Show Suites Viewing Takes a Virtual Turn for the Better

By  |  0 Comments

Located a stone’s throw away from Tiong Bahru MRT Station as well as the now-trendy neighbourhood, Highline Residences is a prime development that has all the charm of the new as well as the old.

Their show suites, too, are a mix of the new and the old. Located along Kim Tian Road, this seemingly traditional showroom features some rather futuristic tech: virtual reality (VR) show suites. And it’s open to public viewing.

Keppel Land is the first developer in Singapore to create a 360-degree immersive VR show suites using Oculus Rift. It was developed together with leading visualisation firm VMW Group, and apart from featuring virtual Highline Residences show suites, it will also provide a virtual exploration of the main landmarks in Tiong Bahru to convey the full experience of Highland Residences better.

Aside from being able to control the viewer’s experience with the Oculus Rift, there were many other benefits as well — for one, it takes a mere two months to ‘build’ a virtual suite, as opposed to six months in the traditional manner. With VR, the developers can showcase different configurations and apartment types without having to create all permutations in physical form, which is very helpful in land-scarce cities such as Singapore. Furthermore, potential customers from overseas can have an authentic viewing experience as well.

At the show suites, you have a mix of both; actual physical mockups that you can touch and feel, and the simulated version that helps you visualise the same fittings in different settings. Each virtual suite aligns strictly to the actual units and viewers can browse the unit plan, room by room, to have a comprehensive view of everything, including the high-end interior finishes and fittings. Future iterations will allow users to change materials and fittings they would like to explore for their future homes.

Highline Residences comprises a total of 500 homes ranging from one- to four-bedroom units, dual key apartments as well as penthouses, spread across three residential towers and four low-rise blocks. As of September, they have sold about 88% of the 320 units launched.

To experience the new wave of show suites viewing, head down to the Highline Residences Sales Gallery at Kim Tian Road from 15 October between 10 am to 6 pm daily.
