In conjunction with the inaugural Singapore Maker Festival 2014, ArtScience Museum presents Living Leonardos, a celebration of the life and works of da Vinci from now till 14 December 2014.

This coming week, drop by The Singapore Maker Festival 2014 – an umbrella event celebrating the Maker Movement in Singapore, and get in touch with your creative and sophisticated side! The Maker Festival is an advocate for hands-on learning, ‘do-it-yourself’ activities and celebrates the talents and inventiveness of local makers.

As part of its latest exhibition, Da Vinci: Shaping the Future, ArtScience Museum also presents Living Leonardos in conjunction with the innovative festival, offering the public a chance to participate in workshops inspired by Leonardo da Vinci.

Participants can take part in a series of creative hands-on workshops from anytime between 1pm-7pm till this coming Sunday. Some highlights to look out for include:

‘Codex’ Hacking

Create your own leather-bound Codex Atlanticus (notebook) with an A6-sized notebook and pieces of off-cut foam.

Silkscreen/Batik Circuits

Unleash your creativity as you create your own silkscreen prints from unconventional products and learn how to embed LEDs to illuminate designs inspired by da Vinci.

Sew da Vinci/Fabric Hacking

Experiment with different types of recycled or discarded fabrics and processes such as silkscreen printing, embroidery and embedding electronic circuits to create your own work of art. Your works will then be transferred to a fabric material using desktop heat transfer printing.

3D Doodling and Digital Printing

Transform da Vinci’s 2D sketches into 3D objects using specialized tools such as a 3D pen and doodler and walk away with your very own creation.

So what are you waiting for? Embrace your creative side and have a good time celebrating the life and works of da Vinci through the various workshops at Living Leonardos.

Admission to the event and workshops is free. For more information on Living Leonardos, please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/799447003432604/.
