Singapura: The Musical

The 4th Wall Theatre Company Pte Ltd is proud to announce the world premiere of Singapura: The Musical at the newly refurbished Capitol Theatre.

Conceptualised by Ed Gatchalian, a celebrated composer as well as the artistic director and founder of 4th Wall Theatre Company Pte Ltd, Singapura: The Musical is based on the lives of ordinary Singaporeans who have experienced the tumultuous decade from 1955 to 1965, a period whereby Singapore embarked on a journey towards independence.

Singapura: The Musical is directed by Greg Ganakas, an award-winning New York Director who is the recipient of two of the most prestigious awards in the theatre world – the Helen Hayes Award and the Moss Heart Award. Having directed many productions throughout his career, he brings with him a wealth of experience to the production of Singapura: The Musical.

Playing one of the lead roles in the musical is critically acclaimed actor, director and playwright, Jonathan Lim, who will also be taking on the role as dramaturge. A veteran in Singapore’s theatre industry, he will be working alongside an international cast and crew to recreate a series of stories depicting Singapore’s most defining historical period.

Singapura: The Musical premieres on 19 May 2015 and will run for six weeks. Tickets are priced from S$65 onwards and are available for purchase at http://singapurathemusical.eventclique.com.
