SK-II invited Global Ambassador Cate Blanchett to Singapore to celebrate the launch of two new products – the Mid-Day and Mid-Night Miracle Essences.
Making her first ever appearance in Singapore, multiple Academy Award-winning actress/SK-II Global Ambassador Cate Blanchett candidly shared her beauty secrets with the media. Before making her appearance at the media session, Cate made a virtual one on the SK-II #changedestiny Google+ Hangout, where she hung out with her fans from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Los Angeles, USA. Hosted by celebrity personality Utt, Cate shared her thoughts on pushing boundaries in life, going beyond one’s limitations, and even beauty tips from her grandmother!

On being limited by the skin you are born with:
“I don’t like the word limited, I think you’ve got to work with what you got. And I think trying to look like someone else or trying to be like someone else, or trying to have someone else’s career is not a good philosophy for any part of your life. But if you work with what you have got, and consistently stay with a range of products that work, which for me is SK-II, then I think you can totally change the results.”
On advice for women venturing into new challenges and breaking stereotypes:
“Well, there’s no formula, really. Especially when you’re in the creative field, I think there’s a lot of parental pressure. My mum did (get worried) as well. But I think that, you’ve got to desperately want to do it. If you’re not gripped by a passion to do it, particularly for the creative field then you’ve got to ask yourself some hard questions. And I always think about it in 5-year blocks so for me, that helped me not get bogged down by what would seem like an immediate failure or an immediate roadblock.”
