Technogym’s Music-Interactive Treadmill

By  |  0 Comments

The Running Music system from Technogym, a world’s first, selects different songs based on the user’s cadence.

There’s quite a good number of people that listen to music while using a treadmill, and the Running Music System aims to better that, with the Android-based machine changing music selection to suit the cadence of the user.

The process starts with sensors on the treadmill detecting the number of steps that the user is taking per minute. It then selects songs from the user’s personal music library that have a similar beat, and plays them back through the console’s sound system. Faster songs are selected whenever the system detects an increase in cadence and slows down accordingly when the pace drops.

Running Music is part of Technogym’s Mywellness cloud-based digital platform, and is currently being demonstrated at CES.
