The MINI Clubman has been rejuvenated to be more utilitarian.

The most practical MINI on wheels was unveiled recently, a delighting continuation from its much lauded individualism since 2007. It seems clear that MINI covets the top spot in the premium compact segment, and wants the rest of the competition to challenge for second spot instead.

Known for advocating high levels of versatility and daily practicality, the new MINI Clubman will inject their unconventional indulgence of design style in ensuring that their latest model meets all the fundamental requirements of what a premium compact class vehicle deserves, with the new Clubman receiving the full four-door treatment for passengers as well as its distinctive rear barn doors that was first spotted in the 2007 model.

In comparison with the MINI Cooper 5-door, the new Clubman is 271mm longer and 73mm wider. And in case you wish to know how much more space your family needs to surrender for the luggage, the new Clubman has a boot space measuring at 360-litres, and can be extended to nearly 1,250-litres after the back rest is folded down.

Powering the new Clubman and Cooper S Clubman are the turbocharged three (1.5-litre/136bhp) and four-cylinder (2.0-litre/192bhp) engines respectively. The Clubman is fitted as standard with a 6-speed Automatic transmission while the Cooper S variant gets an 8-speed Sports Automatic with shift paddles.
