Trade in your old tech and help needy children with Newstead Technologies

By  |  0 Comments

Newstead Technologies, a consumer electronics retailer in Singapore, is running a Gift Your Tech programme until January 27, 2017

During this period, 12 Newstead Technologies stores will serve as e-waste collection points. Customers can trade in their old technology devices such as PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones for cash vouchers. They can combine as many of these cash vouchers in one receipt to purchase new items at any Newstead Technologies stores.

Newstead Technologies will donate 20 percent of the trade-in value of old electronic items brought for recycling and raise a total of SGD 20,000 for TOUCH. TOUCH’s children services helps children from single-parent or low-income families with education and social support.

PC Dreams, Newstead Technologies’ partner for the campaign will cleanse all collected devices of data securely. For end-of-life electronic items that are not eligible for trade-in, Newstead Technologies will recycle them through an e-waste recycling company.

Through Gift Your Tech, Newstead Technologies aims to encourage e-recycling and proper disposal of e-waste.

Mindy Tan Chief Executive Officer of Newstead Technologies shared her thoughts about the programme: “We hope Singaporeans will find it easy to e-waste recycle this time and make it a habit to do so. Every one of us has this old computer sitting at home, why not recycle it and do your bit for charity this year.”

Newstead Technologies will organise a Gift Your Tech event on December 28, 2016 at Marina Square. Consumers will also be able to trade-in their devices or e-recycle during the event.
