Traveloka Reveals Top Three Most-Searched APAC Destinations

By  |  0 Comments

Travel demand across Asia-Pacific continues to grow, with more travellers eager to explore new destinations and create meaningful experiences.

During Traveloka’s EPIC Sale 2025, which ran from 22 April to 5 May, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam emerged as the top three most-searched destinations by millions of APAC travellers. Offering discounts of up to 60 percent on flights, accommodations, and activities, the campaign provided valuable insights into shifting travel preferences.

Launched across seven key APAC markets—Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, and Australia—the EPIC Sale highlighted a broader trend: travellers are making the most of long weekends and school holidays, with rising interest in destinations that offer cultural discovery, nature escapes, and family-friendly experiences.

Travel Trends and Popular Destinations

Alongside Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, international hotspots such as Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore remain highly popular among APAC travellers.

Accommodation choices are also evolving. While flights remain a top priority for long-distance trips, a shift toward diverse lodging options is emerging.

During the EPIC Sale, Singapore travellers booked a mix of apartments and guesthouses alongside traditional hotels and resorts, signalling demand for more flexible stays catering to solo travellers, couples, families, and groups.

Curating Travel Experiences Over Traditional Trips

Baidi Li, Vice President of Commercial, Travel Activities at Traveloka, noted that modern travellers are increasingly focused on value—considering not just price but relevance, flexibility, and overall experience quality.

This year’s campaign also revealed a shift in booking behaviour. Travellers are no longer just securing trips; they are curating experiences. In Singapore, this was reflected in heightened interest in attractions such as Universal Studios, SEA Aquarium, and Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Decks. Cruise travel also gained traction, with users exploring seafaring getaways that blend leisure, exploration, and cultural enrichment.

A New Era of Meaningful Travel

Chad Grospe, Vice President and Managing Director – APAC at Royal Caribbean International, emphasised the growing demand for memorable travel experiences.

Royal Caribbean’s partnership with Traveloka has enabled more travellers across the region to explore its unique cruise vacations, inspiring them to venture beyond their traditional travel plans.

Travellers are increasingly prioritising vacations that create lasting memories and seeking trusted partners that provide curated offerings with seamless convenience.
