Volkswagen Launches Passat Variant

Assuming we haven’t got enough of the Passat yet, Volkswagen has added more form to the standard sedan by introducing the new Passat Variant.

The Passat Variant is a car made more dynamic; with its standard R-Line exterior styling package that includes the strikingly sporty R-Line bumpers, a dedicated radiator grille with R-Line logo, side sill extensions, a roof edge spoiler, a black gloss diffuser and 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/40 R19 tyres.

The estate form of the Passat is expected to perform in the same class of the sedan version, with improved practicality due to an increase in luggage space by 47-litres to 650-litres. Boot space right up to the roof will also grow the cargo capacity to nearly 1,780-litres. This arrangement enhances the longitudinal flexibility to configure your desired loading capacity without compromising on cabin space for the passengers.

The Passat Variant makes about 217BHP with its 2.0 TSI engine and delivers a maximum torque output of 350 Nm from 1,500 to 4,400 rpm. Combined with the quick-shifting 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG), the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 244 km/h.
