Quality Care, Lower Premiums: Great Eastern Pioneers Affordable Private Healthcare Plan
Worried about rising medical costs? Great Eastern has launched a new Integrated Shield Plan (IP) that offers one of the market’s highest coverage limits for private hospitals, all while keeping premiums down.
For many in Singapore, the thought of needing private medical care is often met with a sigh over the potential cost. To address these concerns, Great Eastern has introduced GREAT SupremeHealth (GSH) P Prime, a new Integrated Shield Plan aimed at making high-quality private healthcare more accessible and affordable.

“With healthcare costs rising in Singapore, we understand our customers’ concerns about the affordability of their health insurance,” said Greg Hingston, Group CEO of Great Eastern. The new plan achieves this balance by forming specially curated partnerships with leading medical providers to deliver quality treatment at lower premiums.
The P Prime Advantage: High Coverage, Low Out-of-Pocket Cost
The new P Prime plan, along with its supplementary plan, stands out by offering robust coverage for cost-conscious customers:
- Highest Annual Coverage: The plan offers one of the highest annual coverage limits in the market at SGD 2.9 million.
- Capped Expenses: Out-of-pocket expenses for eligible bills are capped at just SGD 6,500 per policy year.
- Extensive Coverage: Customers can seek treatment within Great Eastern’s broad network of partnering medical providers, including private hospitals, private specialists, and private day surgery centres.
- Comprehensive Support: The plan also includes lifetime coverage for congenital abnormalities and comprehensive recovery benefits, such as post-cancer and post-stroke outpatient support.

Enhancements for Public Hospital Plans
Great Eastern hasn’t forgotten customers who prefer Restructured hospital coverage. They have also enhanced their A-ward plans to provide greater support during recovery.
The enhanced A-ward plans, combined with the supplementary plan, now offer:
- One of the highest combined annual benefit limits of SGD 1.4 million.
- Low out-of-pocket expenses for eligible bills, capped at SGD 3,000 per policy year.
- Extended coverage from 1 November 2025 to include post-stroke outpatient care and a wider range of supportive treatments.
Simplifying Care with a Dedicated Concierge
Beyond the coverage itself, Great Eastern is focusing on reducing the complexity and stress of navigating medical treatment. The insurer is now the only one in Singapore with a dedicated in-house medical concierge offering this level of personalised guidance.
This complimentary service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It aims to provide customers with greater peace of mind and clarity by:
- Helping customers understand their treatment options and compare costs.
- Selecting the most suitable medical provider based on clinical condition and preference.
- Securing appointments on the customer’s behalf.
- Providing speedy admission and cashless discharge facility by reviewing eligibility.
“Insurance is more than just coverage, it is also about reassuring and guiding people along each step of the way, especially when they need it the most,” Mr Hingston added. Since its launch in 2024, this medical concierge service has already benefitted more than 10,000 customers.
