Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital Launches Proton Therapy Centre
Singapore’s healthcare landscape has taken a leap forward with the official opening of the Mount Elizabeth Proton Therapy Centre at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital (MNH).
This marks a milestone as MNH becomes the first private hospital in Singapore to offer this advanced form of cancer treatment.
Since its soft launch on 10 May 2023, the centre has already treated over 100 patients, ranging in age from just 18 months to over 80 years.
Interestingly, more than half of these patients were Singaporeans, while the rest hailed from Southeast Asia, and even as far as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
The centre has seen a diverse range of cases, with head and neck cancers accounting for 40 percent of the treatments. Prostate and brain cancers each made up another 20 percent of the cases. This wide range of applications underscores the versatility and effectiveness of proton therapy.

Proton therapy is a game-changer in the field of oncology.
