This July, Gardens by the Bay has in store an exciting line-up of events set to thrill all nature lovers.

If you can appreciate floral displays and garden shows, Gardens by the Bay has in store two events this July that will interest you.

Orchid Extravaganza

Running from 22 July to 28 August in the Flower Dome, watch as the diversity of the orchid world come to life at this year’s Orchid Extravaganza! Featuring a stunning display of over 100 orchid species and hybrids, visitors will find an orchid of every taste ranging from the intriguing monkey-like Dracula, to the bright and flamboyant blooms of the Cattleya.

Be sure to take a stroll through the secret village dotted with quaint fruit-shaped houses, and be mesmerised by the flow of orchid colours at the Stream of Life; or the spiral of orchids hovering above in the Sacred Trees of Wisdom.

In conjunction with the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) from 23 to 31 July, the Flower Dome will also showcase over 300 prized orchids from the Orchid Society of South East Asia (OSSEA).

The Orchid Extravaganza will be held at the Flower Dome from 9am to 9pm, 22 July to 28 August; and 9am to 9pm during the Singapore Garden Festival (23 to 31 July). Admission tickets to Gardens by the Bay (including entry to Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and SGF) are starting from SGD 20 per adult.

SGF 2014 Fantasy Garden Gold and Best of Show award - Back to the Wild by Michael Petrie

As the first garden show to showcase creations from the world’s top award-winning garden and floral designers all under one roof, the Singapore Garden Festival (SGF) will make its return from 23 to 31 July at the Gardens.

Catch the popular “Fantasy and Landscape Show Gardens” and “Floral Windows to the World”, which will showcase stunning creations from international designers; and look out for “Balcony Gardens”, “Table-top Floral Displays”, and “Gardeners Cup” as they make a comeback.

Visitors may also look forward to the new “Landscape Design Challenge”, where students will compete to transform an empty space into a garden; as well as the “Terrarium Exhibition”, featuring over 50 displays put together by the community. A vibrant marketplace with F&B offerings will also be available at the festival, alongside nightly performances by local musicians.

The Singapore Garden Festival will be held at the Bayfront Plaza, Meadow and Flower Dome, from 10am to 10pm, 23 to 31 July. Admission tickets to SGF (including entry to Flower Dome) are starting from SGD 12 per adult.
