More Card Options for Samsung Pay Users

If you’re starting to get the hang of cashless payments, you’ll be glad to know that more options are being made available.

The latest comes from Samsung Electronics Singapore, who has welcomed two new card issuers, United Overseas Bank (UOB) and EZ-Link FEVO Prepaid Mastercard, along with Citi debit Mastercard for Samsung Pay.

This means that Samsung Pay users on supported phones can now incorporate your UOB debit or credit cards, EZ-Link FEVO cards and Citi debit Mastercard cards to make contactless payments as well as traditional credit card payments through Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST).

To recap, Samsung offers the use of MST to complement contactless payments, which ensures a greater level of availability and convenience – essentially you can tap your phone on the terminal instead of swiping your credit card. Security is maintained via Samsung’s military-grade Knox platform with secure authentication via fingerprint as well as iris scanning, a feature available on Samsung’s newest handsets, the Galaxy S8 and S8+.

An additional benefit is that you are able to use Samsung Pay for transactions up to your credit limit, which is something you can’t do with Apple Pay and Android Pay.
