Diamond Princess Cruise To Begin First Singapore Season This November
Passengers may enjoy the Princess Cruises experience this November as the Diamond Princess home-ports this November.
Renowned for their innovative design and wide array of dining and entertainment facilities as well as amenities, global cruise and tour company, Princess Cruises today operates a fleet of 18 modern ships. Having recently concluded its second season in Singapore with the Sapphire Princess, the line has also announced that Diamond Princess will begin her first Singapore season this coming November.
With the cruising industry growing quickly in Asia, Singapore is at the epicentre of this growth, leading the Southeast Asia region with a majority (60 percent) of the economic impact from the cruise industry. As the principal turnaround port, Singapore also accounted for 68 percent of total turnaround passenger visit days in Southeast Asia last year (Business Research and Economic Advisors, 2014).
To better serve Singaporean and Southeast Asian guests, Diamond Princess will have multi-lingual crew members on-board throughout its homeport season from Singapore. Local food has also been added to dining room menus to complement the line’s international offerings.
Active agers with more free time on their hands may consider having a getaway on board the Diamond Princess this coming November. Guests can expect to enjoy an impressive array of dining and entertainment options in addition to the line’s signature innovations, such as its popular Movies Under the Stars Poolside Theatre and The Sanctuary, an exclusive top-deck retreat. To further appeal to the Asian market, some enhancements such as the Izumi Japanese bath – the largest of its kind at sea – as well as the Kai Sushi restaurant, will also be available.
Boasting a 2,706 passenger capacity with a total of 1,353 passenger cabins, guests may choose from a range of different accommodation types including suites with private balconies, mini-suites with private balconies, balcony cabins, ocean view cabins, inside cabins and limited family suites with interconnecting cabins. Wheelchair accessible cabins are also available, with the option of either balcony, oceanview or inside cabins.
On board any of Princess Cruises, there’s a bit of everything for everyone. Diamond Princess offers a variety of dining venues – international cuisine at Santa Fe and International Dining Room; Sabatini’s Italian restaurant and its signature pastas and seafood specialities; Horizon Court and its 24-Hour buffets, Ultimate Balcony Dining for a luxurious romantic four-course meal; and five main dining rooms, among others.
When cruising, the best thing to do is to soak up some rays at any of the cruise’s pools. Diamond Cruise boasts three pools and a whirlpool spa, allowing passengers plenty of room to get their dose of Vitamin D.
After a day full of activities, guests may relax and unwind at the Lotus Spa and pick from an array of treatments ranging from facials, scrubs and massages to body therapy, body wraps, and Botox and Acupuncture. The spacious Lotus Fitness Centre offers health-conscious passengers the ability to work out even while on vacation. On top of the standard gym equipment such as treadmills and weights, the fitness centre also offers a wide range of classes including TRX Suspension Training, cycling, Pilates, yoga, stretch, abs and Body Sculpt Boot Camp.
For those looking for some entertainment and nightlife activities, Diamond Cruise is well equipped with five showrooms and lounges including the Princess Theatre, Skywalker Nightclub and the Explorers Lounge. Guests may enjoy conversations over some cocktails, groove to the music, or sing to their hearts’ content at the karaoke events. The cruise’s Movie Under The Stars Poolside Theatre is definitely not to be missed, offering passengers a unique opportunity to enjoy blockbuster Hollywood movies against the backdrop of the sea and the sky.
Other passenger services include a Casino, a library, Art Auctions, a nine-hole golf putting course, and a Sports Deck offering activities such as ping pong, basketball or volleyball
The younger ones will surely be kept entertained with the availability of a Youth’s Centre (ages three to 12) and a Teen’s Lounge (ages 13 to 17). Staffed by experienced counsellors, the little cruisers may pick from art projects, game tables, the latest movies, pizza parties, talent shows, video games, and many more at the Youth Centre. The teens-only lounge on the other hand, is equipped with Playstation games, movies, karaoke and more.
With a wide variety of dining and entertainment facilities, passengers can expect a fulfilling three to 10 days on-board the Diamond Princess.
