ION Orchard Christmas

Celebrate the season of giving at ION Orchard as it partners a dozen designer brands to give back to the less privileged. 12 brands at ION Orchard will each offer its interpretation of Christmas with a specially designed 2.4-metre-tall Christmas tree. These brands include Alice + Olivia, Braun Büffel, Buben & Zorweg, Cortina Watch, Crate & Barrel, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ermenegildo Zegna, Kurt Geiger, Kwanpen, Moncler, Parfums Christian Dior and TWG Tea.

ION Orchard VIP members and loyal shoppers are encouraged to put in bids to adopt the tree or trees of choice via an iPad next to each tree. Bids are starting at SGD 8,000, with the highest bidder earning adoption and naming rights for each tree of choice, on top of a token of appreciation from the respective brands and ION Orchard. Shoppers can also make direct donations at several donation points near the concierge counters at Basement 3 and, Levels 1 and 4.

As part of the Care & Share Movement led by Community Chest, all funds raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government to benefit some 350 students with special needs from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School.

Customised gift wrapping paper by special needs students

The mall’s gift wrappers this year will be jointly designed by ION Orchard and four students from the Community Chest-supported Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School. The wrapper will feature the students’ interpretation of Christmas with festive icons such as the reindeer, snowman, gingerbread boy and Christmas stockings. The mall’s Christmas wrappers will be available to shoppers who spend SGD 100 and above.

Beneficiaries from Rainbow Centre Yishun Park School will be helping out with the gift wrapping at the Level 1 concierge on 13 November from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 14 November from 6 to 8.30pm for an added personalised touch to the mall’s gift wrapping service.

ION Orchard’s Christmas displays

Beginning 21 November, the mall’s outdoor space, ION2, will be transformed into a lit-up Christmas park wonderland complete with reindeer and sleighs. Look out for other interactive elements such as a snow bubble show, Christmas acapella performances, and Santa Claus appearances that will make perfect photo opportunities with family and friends.

ION Orchard Swarovski Christmas Tree Interior

The centrepiece of ION Orchard’s Christmas wonderland will be its dazzling 20-metre-tall Swarovski Christmas tree adorned with over 28,000 stunning clear crystals. The tree’s cavernous walk-in interior will feature a kaleidoscope of lights, mirrored ceilings and a rotating chandelier that will magically transform the space into an infinity room.

The mall’s facade will also feature a Christmas Bedazzle theme featuring blue and silver hues, and a canopy of glistening snowflakes, sparkling fairy lights and metallic disco balls.

New and expanded stores

This festive season, some of the mall’s long-standing brands such as Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Dior and Dolce & Gabbana will revamp their stores to offer bigger premises and innovative concepts. New brand Moncler has also recently opened its first store in Southeast Asia at ION Orchard, while other brands such as Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels are slated to open in time for Christmas.
