Dr. Wolff launches new oral care range – Bioniq® Repair-Toothpastes

The Bioniq® Repair-Toothpastes are a new biomimetic oral care range that helps to “brush back” tooth enamel and combat teeth sensitivity.

More than half the Singapore population experience teeth sensitivity as a result of exposed dentin tubule. This is a prominent oral issue in Singapore. Sensitive teeth can affect our daily lives by causing a sharp pain or discomfort whenever we drink or eat something cold. Exposed dentin is often caused by existing gum diseases and acidic food. Our tooth enamel can be worn out daily by acid attacks that is found in our diet. Enamel erosion is irreversible and is unable to regenerate naturally.

We hope to raise awareness on the importance of protecting ones’ teeth enamel with HAP and to plug the gap in the market with a product that caters to the dental care needs of Singaporeans, who predominantly suffer from issues linked to sensitive teeth and gums. HAP is a mineral from the calcium phosphate family and is a proven and effective way of remineralising our tooth enamel. Good oral health enriches your quality of life, and oral care can be as simple as using HAP-based products to keep oral health issues caused by dental cavities, sensitive teeth or gingivitis at bay.

Dr. Wolff’s Bioniq® Repair-Toothpaste and Bioniq® Repair-Toothpaste PLUS can be a solution to remineralising teeth

The Bioniq® Repair-Toothpastes contain 20 percent hydroxyapatite (HAP) or biomimetic enamel. This is an active ingredient that takes a natural approach to remineralising teeth.

Clinical research has demonstrated that this active ingredient in the toothpaste, when used twice a day, keeps both teeth and gums healthy in the long term, supporting overall oral health. There are also cosmetic benefits when used twice daily such as removing teeth discoloration caused by substances such as nicotine, tea or red wine.

HAP remineralises the teeth and forms a protective layer against enamel erosion. Interestingly, this ingredient alone is known to remineralise the deeper layers of the teeth effectively, as compared to other common remineralising agents used in oral care.

Bioniq® Repair-Toothpastes

As the main component of the teeth enamel, HAP actively protects the
underlying tooth layers from bacteria which can cause diseases, or that lead to the death of the tooth. As dental caries and gum disease such as gingivitis are biofilm-associated diseases, bionic enamel helps in preventing these diseases.

HAP can also reduce bacterial adhesion to the teeth and this helps to reduces the risk of gum problems.
