The Straits Wine Company Launches Peace of Vino

By  |  0 Comments

Peace of Vino is an initiative by The Straits Wine Company to address the increasing demand for sustainable wines.

A one-stop site for natural, organic and biodynamic wine, Peace of Vino makes it easy for you to view and buy sustainable wines online. The Straits Wine Company will also dedicate a small section in each of their eight retail outlets to the genre.

Sustainable wines are picking up in popularity in recent years, due to increasing environmental awareness as well as concern for chemical interventions. Despite coming across as a ‘spinoff’ from mainstream practices – and wine drinkers are understandably careful about what they drink – naturally-made wines would at one point in history, be considered the norm.

Makers of sustainable wine also maintain that natural wines taste lush, vibrant and alive and somewhat ‘earthy’ in a fresh, natural way. They also argue that the differences in each grape variety become more apparent.

Hogwash? Or a really exciting category that’s worth exploring? Only one way to find out – and on the 27th and 28th of May, Camp Kilo will play host to two days of wine-tasting from over 30 wineries curated by Peace of Vino, accompanied by delicious food. The owners and winemakers at Unico Zelo Wine, Brendan and Laura Carter, will also be present at the event. They are one of the most influential winemakers from Adelaide Hills, so if you want to know more about how wine is made using environment-safe practices, this will be a good time to find out.
