#ToothTruths, a perspective about oral health

By  |  0 Comments

The Singapore Dental Association and Singapore Dental Health Foundation launches an oral health campaign

Titled ToothTruths, the campaign comprises of a survey and a content component through social media. It seeks to understand what people fear, dislike or love about visiting the dentist. The Singapore Dental Association hopes that people will share about their dentist visits and outcomes through their personal oral health experience.

A recent survey by GSK Consumer Healthcare and IPSOS found that many Singaporeans are aware of the importance of oral health but neglect to do enough to maintain and improve their oral health. Due to lockdown restrictions and aims to reduce COVID-19 transmission, 36 percent of consumers in Singapore have reduced their frequency or stopped visiting the dentist. Respondents also shared that they are worried about maintaining social distancing at the dentist, and worry about catching COVID-19 from dental equipment.

#ToothTruths Survey

The #ToothTruths survey will run until 25 April. It seeks to provide a deeper understanding of Singaporeans’ dental hygiene habits, their fears and motivations for going to the dentist. The survey data will help examine Singaporeans key dental health concerns. The survey can be found at this website. All local participants who complete the survey will receive a SGD 30 Pearlie White Gift Card. This can be used at the Pearlie White online store.

#ToothTruths user-generated content on social media

The #ToothTruths user-generated content campaign started on 7 April for four weeks. Members of the public are encouraged to share stories about their own oral health journey. To participate, the content shared (for example, picture or video) should carry the #ToothTruths hashtag. Stories can range from personal experiences with visiting the dentist, or capture their improvement of an oral health condition or even how they have overcome their fears when having to see a dentist. Every week, one winner will be selected to receive a SGD 50 hamper of dental products from 3M and Listerine.
