This time, we have Khiri Travel share with us a 40 day plus five countries Mekong tour, where to stay if you are visiting Art Basel in Hong Kong this year and a way to earn more KrisFlyer miles.

Khiri Travel launches the Epic Multi-Country Program, a 40-day, five-country journey filled with variety, lots of local community and insights and structured flexibility for guests to fashion their own Mekong experience. The trip averages about USD100 per person, per day including six regional and domestic flights.

Iconic heritage sites such as the Shwedagon Pagoda, Bagan, Pak Ou caves, Angkor Wat, Sambor Prei Kuk temples, Hoi An and Hanoi’s Temple of Literature are included in the itinerary. Interaction and highlights of the trip include meetings with fortune tellers, cheroot makers, bamboo craftsmen, local schools, the leg-rower fishermen of Inle Lake, Lao textile weavers, rice noodle makers, tai-chi practitioners and Chinatown vendors.

For foodies and localvores can look forward to a Burmese mohinga breakfast, lunch in a Palaung village, a food discovery walk in Chiang Rai, fruit sampling in a Vietnamese orchard and stops in a Hanoi market to try pho bo (beef noodle soup), nom (papaya salad with beef), and banh goi (minced pork and mushroom parcels).

The trip includes nine days where guests can relax or explore at leisure in Hsipaw, Bagan, Nyaung Shwe (Inle Lake), Luang Prabang, Siem Reap, Saigon, Hoi An and Hanoi and ends with three days of relaxation on the beach at Koh Samet, Thailand.

Art Stay with Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong this March

Visitors to Art Basel in Hong Kong can look forward to an “Art Stay” package at the Mandarin Oriental from 9 to 18 March. The “Art Stay” package includes accommodation, access for two to Art Basel, breakfast in-room or at the Clipper Lounge or Cafe Causette, a welcome bottle of champagne and an art-inspired welcome treat. Access to Art Basel includes unlimited entrance to the fair, an invitation to the Vernissage, access to the Collectors Lounge and invitations to a series of fair event.

Room rates begin at HKD 4,899 before taxes and room reservations can be made through the hotel website.

Art Basel presents galleries from Asia, Europe, the Americas and the rest of the world and more than 3,000 artists, ranging from young emerging artists to the Modern masters from both Asia and the West. Many galleries presented at the show have exhibition spaces in Asia and the Asia-Pacific region, showcasing a strong combination of high-quality works from the East and the West.

Scoot and Tigerair join KrisFlyer

Starting April 2015, KrisFlyer members can redeem their miles for vouchers to use for travel on both Scoot and Tigerair. Both carriers have plans to allow travellers to earn KrisFlyer miles by the end of 2015.

Scoot operates medium and long haul no-frills flights between Singapore and Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Tianjin, Shenyang, Nanjing, Qingdao, Seoul, Hong Kong and Perth. Tigerair Singapore operates flights to 38 destinations across 13 countries in Asia/Australia including Australia, Greater China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
