Hydrate Your Skin This Summer

As we approach the hottest time of the year, our skin is even more susceptible to drying out. Find out how to hydrate your skin to prepare yourself for the summer.

When we age, our skin inevitably gets drier; making way for the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin will lose even more moisture during the summer period as you’ll perspire more. To prevent it from drying out further, here are some ways you can lock in as much moisture as you can to keep your skin hydrated and supple all day:


Drink Water

If it isn’t obvious enough, the key to keeping your skin hydrated is determined by how much water you consume. While hydrating yourself should continue all year round, the summer is when you should hydrate yourself with even more water than the average eight glasses per day as you’ll perspire more. Use Moisturizers

Ageing skin tends to be drier and that means you should always incorporate a good moisturiser into your skincare routine. Just because your skin produces more oil in the summer heat, that doesn’t mean you should be skimping on the moisturiser! Switch to more lightweight, dry skin creams that contains ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid (known for its ability to retain moisture) so that your skin can still appear youthful and supple even in this sizzling summer heat. When you protect your skin from the sun, your skin will be better hydrated and will also appear more youthful. Eat Water-rich Foods
