Mizuno Ekiden Run 2017 back for third year in Singapore

By  |  0 Comments

Closing date for registration with reduced fees is extended to 16 July

The third edition of the Mizuno Ekiden Run will be taking place in August. The relay-styled long distance run (across 42km or 21km) requires teams of 4 runners to wear a traditional tasuki sash (in turns) while completing the race.  Race organisers hope that the Mizuno Ekiden 2017 will encourage participants to demonstrate high performance under challenging situations while fostering teamwork and perseverance.

Runners can register in teams of four across four categories; the Open Category (42.195km), the Open Category (21.1km), the Corporate category (21.1km), and the newest category in 2017, the Running Club category. To win, teams can beat previous year’s timing set by past year champions and also for the best timing in their respective categories.

Runners can register at reduced rates until 16 July. The 42.195 KM Open and Running Club Categories are now S$230 (vs. S$260 previously). The 21.1 KM Open Category is S$210 (S$240 previously) while the 21.1 KM Corporate Category fees remain unchanged at S$200.  Fees are for teams of four persons.

Post-race, all runners and members of the public will be treated to a variety of traditional and popular Japanese gourmet such as sushi, ramen, and desserts at the Matsuri Race Village. Entry to the village is free.
