Glenfiddich And Balvenie To Feature At Whisky Live

Whisky Live: Collections 2014 takes place next Saturday (25 October) in Singapore and guests can look forward to a stellar variety of whiskies to taste.

William Grant & Sons will be taking part for the second year at Whisky Live and share their delightful range of Glenfiddich and The Balvenie whiskies.

Glenfiddich Regional Brand Ambassador, Matthew Fergusson-Stewart will be leading a Deconstruction Masterclass about the Solera process that leads to making the Glenfiddich Solera Reserve 15 Year Old.

Another highlight of Whisky Live this year will be the introduction of The Collector’s Room, an area that will be serving over 40 rare and acclaimed whiskies. Guests will have to pay an additional fee just to enter The Collector’s Room but that comes with two Collectors drams to taste. Highlights from William Grant & Sons include The Balvenie TUN 1858 Batch No. 2 and Batch No. 3 as well as the Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix.

The Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix is part of a limited release created by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. According to tasting notes, the Snow Phoenix is “creamy and vibrant on the nose, with honey and chocolate on the palate and sherry notes mellowing into a long finish”.

The Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch No. 2 and No. 3 are really the Asian counterparts to the popular Balvenie Tun 1401. The Balvenie Tun 1858 is a marriage of three sherry butts and nine traditional whisky casks. Like the Balvenie Tun 1401, these feature some of the oldest Balvenie casks available. Tasting notes share that the Batch No. 2 has a “nose of spices, nuts, chocolate, and dried fruits, and a palate layered with honey, dried fruits, peach, white pepper, fudge and oak wood”.
