NATAS Travel 2016 Fair Opens Today

By  |  0 Comments

NATAS Travel 2016 is back again for the 48th time with attractive prizes, special promotions and customised packages.

We attended the opening ceremony of the NATAS Travel 2016 fair today and would like to share some highlights and promotions for the ongoing fair. Running from 4 to 6 March 2016 at Singapore EXPO Hall 7, travel enthusiasts may browse through a wide selection of travel choices and special promotions. On top of customised packages and cruises, visitors may also stand to win attractive prizes, sample international cuisine, and attend health talks to learn more about travel safety.

Some highlights of the NATAS Travel 2016 are:

Cruises

More Singaporeans are going on cruises every year.  According to Singapore Tourism Board statistics, the Asia cruise industry is experiencing double digit growth. At NATAS Travel 2016, visitors will have a wide choice of six cruises to Asia, Europe, America and Caribbean to pick from.

Trafalgar Booth

Drop by the Trafalgar booth and browse from over 160 authentic trips for your next holiday. Visitors may also enjoy up to 50 percent off the second person for Trafalgar’s summer holidays to Europe.

Tailor-made Packages

Recognising the trend of savvy travellers who do not want a group tour but prefer a personalised itinerary, Gutereise! and Green Island offer tailor-made packages for these discerning FITs (frequent and independent travellers).

Travel Insurance Packages from AIG

When travelling overseas, it is always recommended to buy travel insurance. This ensures you are covered should any unforeseen accident occur or should you require medical assistance during your holiday. As the Official Travel Insurer for NATAS Travel 2016, AIG will offer visitors a discount of up to 40 percent for selected insurance plans.

International Food & Wine Trail

Besides travel packages, visitors may also savour international cuisines at the “Taste the World” Food & Wines Trail. Expect to find dishes such as Italian pasta, Japanese Samurice, Turkish Kebab, Si Chuan Dan Dan Noodle, Taiwanese street food, coffee, wines and many more.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Travellers’ Health and Vaccination Clinic)

NATAS’ strategic healthcare partner, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), will be at the Fair from 2pm to 6pm from 5 to 6 March to provide advice on travel-related vaccinations and health matters. Members of the public may also take part in educational games and enquire about vaccinations necessary for their upcoming holiday.

This is especially important for those travelling to Rio de Janiero for the summer Olympics with the recent outbreak of the Zika virus. This is part of a broader initiative by NATAS and TTSH to educate the travel community on essential travel health matters and to help travellers be prepared for their trips so that they will come back bringing happy memories and also remain in the pink of health.

The Travellers’ Health and Vaccination Clinic will be located at Booth 7H14.

Health Talks

Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, Dr. Teo Li Tserng, will be present at the fair to hold talks on how to make self-drive holidays safer and more enjoyable. Catch him on 5 March, 1:30pm and be sure to grab a seat at the stage area.

Second Careers With Tourism Management Institute of Singapore (TMIS)

Under SkillsFuture, retirees and those who were retrenched may want to consider a career change to become a qualified tourist guide/tour leader or join the travel industry. Be sure to visit TMIS’s booth for more information on the courses they provide.

NATAS Travel 2016 Grand Draw and Lucky Dip
