Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has just announced the release of the G-Shock GBD-H1000, a watch equipped with a heart rate monitor and GPS functionality.

Due for an April 2020 release, the G-Shock GBD-H1000 is a new G-SQUAD series model that features an optical heart rate monitor, built-in GPS and a slew of other features such as pressure sensors (altimeter and barometer) and an accelerometer for step counting. Combined with its high-contrast LCD display, you might mistake it for the highly sought after G-Shock GPR-B1000 Rangeman, but this is a totally new model that would definitely set hearts aflutter when it comes to Singapore.

Other notable features of this new watch include automatic GPS time syncing, Bluetooth mobile link, vibration alerts, solar power, and USB charging. In addition, with it being a G-Shock, the GBD-H1000 is fully shock-resistant and water-resistant (200m).

As for usage, the G-Shock GBD-H1000 is definitely useful for brisk walks or runs, as it offers useful functions, some of which include the display of one’s heart rate, steps taken, distance, as well as speed; metrics that a keen fitness enthusiast would definitely appreciate.

In terms of battery life, this watch when used during exercise (with continuous GPS and heart rate monitor use) is about 14 hours. In normal time keeping mode, it can last up to a year. The usage of the GPS and heart rate monitor will require the charging of the watch from a power source via a USB cable, but in time mode, the watch can be kept running in perpetuity as it gets charged up from solar power.

The four colours that are currently available are the black GBD-H1000-1, black and white GBD-H1000-1A7, red GBD-H1000-4, and black and red GBD-H1000-8. For full specifications, visit www.casio-intl.com.
