Get a Curated Whisky Education via the Whisky Butler
For those who are new to the whiskies, there are number of ways to get a good education. But wait, here’s one more: Whisky Butler.
Whisky Butler is an online whisky tasting club, and operates via a subscription model where you will receive four samples (20ml each) of whiskies in a bespoke whisky box monthly. The chosen whiskies will revolve around a theme each month, and will include fun facts and tasting notes to help you along your journey of discovery; it’s an interesting alternative for those who are keen to learn about whisky. And you don’t have to spend oodles of cash buying bottles that you may not enjoy having to finish.
Whisky Butler co-founder Benjamin Tan shared that the idea behind Whisky Butler was to educate budding whisky drinkers about quality whiskies that aren’t as well-publicised, and also as a way to ‘try-before-you-buy’. He hopes to one day build up a large enough user base to offer exclusive single cask bottlings, available only to members.
Whiskies to be featured will include Springbank, Bowmore, Dailuaine, Glenglassaugh, Mortlach, Benromach, Benriach, Littlemill, Deanston, Glendronach and more. Whisky Butler also offers a diverse range of whiskies from independent bottlers, which essentially opens up a whole new world. Independent Bottlers (IBs) obtain casks from distilleries and bottle them under their own label. As such, they’re able to offer some rare whiskies that aren’t commercially available otherwise. Furthermore, IBs do not have to stick to the distillery’s house style, thus offering more diversity in taste profiles.
Subscription Options
Plans offered include a Pay as You Go option, or you can take up a six month or one year package. You will receive four samples (20ml each) of curated whiskies in a presentation-quality box – it will also make a nice ready-made gift box for special occasions.
Pay as You Go S$88 monthly, includes exclusive invitation to Whisk Butler events.
Six months plan S$83 monthly, includes exclusive invitation to Whisk Butler events and seminars.
One year plan S$74 monthly, includes priority invitation to Whisk Butler events and seminars.
Christmas Advent Calendar
To commemorate its debut, Whisky Butler will also be offering a limited edition Christmas Advent Calendar, which is a collection of 24 whiskies from 12 countries around the world. The highlight of the gift set is a sample of the 30YO Royal Brackla bottled by Cadenhead that costs S$1,200 by the bottle.
