Grow Your Own Edible Sprouts And Support Charity

By  |  0 Comments

Toast Box seeks to raise funds and awareness for non-profit charity organisation, ABLE, through the sale of Sprouting Kits.

To mark its sixth year milestone, Toast Box joins hands with the beneficiaries of Abilities Beyond Limitations and Expectations (ABLE), to raise awareness and funds for ABLE’S rehabilitation, respite and training programmes.

This year, funds will be raised through the sale of Sprouting Kits – a portable-sized cup that comes with soil compost processed from Toast Box’s recycled coffee grounds, and seeds for growing the sprouts.

Each Sprouting Kit has been carefully packed and assembled by ABLE’s staff and beneficiaries alongside Toast Box’s staff-volunteers. As an organisation that helps the physically challenged lead a productive, meaningful and independent life, these packing sessions help to keep ABLE’s beneficiaries physically and socially active through their interaction with Toast Box staff-volunteers.

The Sprouting Kit symbolises ‘growing’ a new life, and allows Toast Box’s customers to experience growing their own edible ‘Bak Choy’ or ‘Kai Lan’ sprouts in a cup. Once the sprouts have grown, customers can choose to add them to their salads, or cook them with other vegetables.

These portable Sprouting Kits will be available across 35 Toast Box stores from 22 September 2016 at SGD 5 each. All proceeds from the sale of these kits will go directly to ABLE.
