Oppo R7s: Another Stylish Mid-price Smartphone Enters the Fray
Oppo’s new R7s is yet another stellar entry into a burgeoning world of well-made, mid-priced smartphones.
Designed with the essentials in mind, the R7s is propped up in all the right places. The mid-range Snapdragon 615 processor is sufficiently powerful to deal with most daily tasks, but more importantly it has a strong ’supporting cast’ in the form of 4GB of RAM (more RAM is always better for Android phones) a rich and vibrant 5.5-inch AMOLED display, a generous 3070mAh battery, as well as 32GB of onboard storage plus a microSD slot that accommodates cards up to 128GB in capacity (also supports dual SIM).
Oppo certainly didn’t skimp on the camera, adding hybrid focus (contrast and phase detection) for speedier focusing, as well as digital stabilisation for its 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera – this is a phone made for camera buffs.
In addition to its long battery life (Oppo estimates 13 hours of continuous real-world use), the R7s also has a quick charge feature.
But of course, one of the highlights of the phone lies in its design: aircraft-grade aluminium, and a uni-body construction for a premium look and feel.
The R7s is now available in Gold at all three telcos, Oppo concept stores and authorised dealers for S$599. The Rose Gold version will be launched at a later date.
